Alan Jackson’s Catalog Reaches 85.5 Million RIAA-Certified Units

The country music icon’s career total includes gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums and singles spanning more than three decades.

Alan Jackson has reached another major career milestone, with his recorded catalog now certified by the Recording Industry Association of America for 85.5 million units in the United States.

The new total reflects decades of album, single, and music video certifications across Jackson’s career, including eight multi-platinum albums, seven platinum albums, three gold albums, and nine singles that have earned gold, platinum, or multi-platinum status.

Jackson’s certification history dates back more than 35 years. His first RIAA certification came in 1990 for his debut album, Here in the Real World. His most recent certifications include “The Older I Get,” along with additional multi-platinum milestones for albums from his catalog.

“Alan Jackson has built a legacy through songs that have defined Country music for more than four decades, creating a lasting connection to generations of fans,” RIAA Senior Vice President of Artist & Industry Relations Jackie Jones said. “We were honored to celebrate his impact on the music community, and his remarkable 85.5-million RIAA certifications.”

More Than Three Decades of Gold and Platinum Success

The 85.5-million-unit milestone adds another measure of the longevity of Jackson’s music.

Since releasing Here in the Real World in 1990, Jackson has sold nearly 90 million units worldwide and released more than 60 singles. His career includes 50 Top 10 hits and 35 No. 1 songs, including 26 that reached the top of the Billboard charts.

Those recordings have helped make Jackson one of the most successful singer-songwriters in country music history.

He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. His career honors include three CMA Entertainer of the Year awards, 22 ACM Awards, 17 CMA Awards, two Grammys, and more than 30 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Jackson has also received the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, ASCAP’s Founders and Golden Note Awards, and the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2025, the Academy of Country Music presented him with the inaugural Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor that now bears his name.

Alan Jackson Honored With RIAA Plaque

Jackson was surprised with news of the 85.5-million-unit milestone following his June 27 Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

RIAA representatives presented Jackson with a commemorative plaque backstage following the sold-out event.

The plaque is now on display at Alan Jackson’s Silverbelly Whiskey Distillery and Museum in downtown Nashville, where exhibits highlighting his career are incorporated into the new attraction.

The certification milestone comes during a year that has continued to spotlight Jackson’s catalog and career. A live album recorded at his Nashville finale is on the way, while Jackson has also released his version of “Still the One,” dedicated to his wife, Denise.

With 85.5 million RIAA-certified units in the United States alone, the latest milestone adds another chapter to a recording career that has now stretched across more than three decades.
