Dan + Shay Christmas Music: Their Holiday Album, Songs and Recordings

Dan + Shay began releasing original Christmas music in 2020, gradually building a holiday catalog before releasing their first full-length Christmas album four years later.
Released in 2024, It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album pairs the duo’s versions of familiar Christmas standards with an entire second disc of original holiday songs. Dan + Shay continued adding to their Christmas catalog in 2025 with “Long Live Christmas.”
It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album — 2024
Dan + Shay released their first full-length Christmas album, It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album, on October 18, 2024. The 21-song collection is divided into two parts, with Disc One featuring 10 Christmas classics and Disc Two devoted to 11 original holiday songs.
“We are so excited to announce our very first Christmas album, and surprise, it’s a double album,” Dan + Shay shared when announcing the project. “This project has been a decade in the making, and we are so proud of every single note.”
They added, “Our hope is that you are able to enjoy + share that same magic with your loved ones for years to come. As always, thank you for continuing to believe in us and allowing us to live our dream. We’re grateful for you, and we’re grateful for Christmas!”
Dan + Shay had already been building toward a full Christmas project for several years. Beginning in 2020, they released original holiday songs including “Take Me Home for Christmas,” “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” “Pick Out a Christmas Tree,” “Officially Christmas,” and “Holiday Party.” Those earlier releases were later included on Disc Two of the album.

Dan + Shay continued adding to their holiday catalog after the release of It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album.
The duo released “Long Live Christmas” on November 7, 2025. Written by Dan Smyers, the song arrived one year after the duo’s first Christmas album and became their newest original holiday release.
