Little Big Town released their new album, It’s A Dying Art, on August 28, 2026, via MCA Nashville.
The 13-song project is the group’s 12th studio album and features collaborations with Ashley Monroe, Jason Isbell, and Kelsea Ballerini.
It’s A Dying Art was co-produced by two-time Grammy winner Gena Johnson, whose credits include Jason Isbell, Dolly Parton, and Brandi Carlile, alongside Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild.

Little Big Town released It’s A Dying Art on August 28, 2026.
The album is available digitally and on CD and vinyl, including several colored-vinyl editions through Little Big Town’s official store.
The CD and digital editions contain 13 tracks, beginning with a short “Intro.” The vinyl edition contains 12 songs and begins with “Sucker For A Sad Song.” It also uses a slightly different track sequence.
It’s A Dying Art follows Little Big Town’s 2022 studio album, Mr. Sun.

It’s A Dying Art focuses heavily on human connection, lived experience, and music created through real musicians and performances.
The album reflects more than 25 years together for Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook.
Fairchild has said the group’s shared experiences — including raising families and losing loved ones — influenced the project, with grief, gratitude, and their long-standing connection at the center of the music.
The album combines Little Big Town’s four-part harmonies with songs about relationships, heartbreak, hope, and change.

Little Big Town previewed the album with several songs before its August release.
“Hey There Sunshine” provided the first look at the project and was performed during the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards.
The group followed with “Over And Over,” which they had previously debuted live at Stagecoach.
“Sucker For A Sad Song,” featuring Ashley Monroe, was written by Karen Fairchild, Ashley Monroe, and Shelby Lynne.

Ashley Monroe joins Little Big Town on “Sucker For A Sad Song,” the first full-length song on the CD and digital editions of It’s A Dying Art.
Karen Fairchild, Monroe, and Shelby Lynne wrote the track.
An official music video directed by Becky Fluke was also released for the song.
“The Door” Features Jason Isbell
Jason Isbell joins Little Big Town on “The Door,” another collaboration featured on It’s A Dying Art.
The song deals with the end of a long-term relationship, with Isbell also contributing guitar to the recording.
An official video for “The Door” was released following the album.
Kelsea Ballerini Joins Little Big Town on “Closing Time”
Kelsea Ballerini is featured on “Closing Time,” one of three collaborations included on the album.
The song was released ahead of It’s A Dying Art, and Little Big Town later released an official music video for the track.
Little Big Town’s For The Art Of It Tour
Little Big Town will support It’s A Dying Art with the For The Art Of It Tour.
The North American tour begins September 24 and includes stops across the United States and Canada.
Upcoming cities include Houston, Dallas, Virginia Beach, Durham, Charlotte, Akron, Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, and Toronto.
Little Big Town will close out the year with The Christmas Shows, a three-night residency at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium from December 8-10.
