Thomas Rhett released his first Christmas music in 2019, pairing an original holiday song with his take on a Christmas classic. Three years later, he expanded his holiday catalog with Merry Christmas, Y’all, a four-song collection of seasonal standards.
Together, the two releases include six Thomas Rhett Christmas songs, from the original “Christmas in the Country” to favorites including “Winter Wonderland” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
Christmas in the Country — 2019
Thomas Rhett released his first Christmas songs on November 20, 2019, with the two-song single Christmas in the Country. The release paired the original title track with his rendition of “The Christmas Song.”
“Christmas in the Country” was written by Thomas Rhett, David Garcia, Ashley Gorley, and Chris Tomlin. The song drew on the kind of Christmas traditions Thomas Rhett was familiar with, while “The Christmas Song” gave him the opportunity to record one of the holiday classics.
At the time, Thomas Rhett called Christmas “hands-down my favorite time of year” and said his wife, Lauren, had wanted him to record Christmas music for a long time.

Merry Christmas, Y’all — 2022
Thomas Rhett returned to Christmas music in 2022 with Merry Christmas, Y’all, released October 21 through The Valory Music Co. The four-song EP marked his first Christmas collection and featured his versions of four familiar holiday standards.
Produced by Dann Huff, the project included “Winter Wonderland,” “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas.”
Thomas Rhett said the selections were songs that had long been part of Christmas for his family, explaining, “I wanted to record some of the Christmas songs that my family and I enjoy every year.”
