Tigirlily Gold Country & Midwestern: Release Date, Tracklist & Album Guide
The duo’s sophomore album arrives October 9 with 16 tracks inspired by their North Dakota roots.

Tigirlily Gold is giving fans the full picture of their upcoming sophomore album, Country & Midwestern.
The ACM Award-winning duo of sisters Kendra Olson and Krista Slaubaugh has revealed the complete 16-track lineup for the album, arriving October 9. Featuring 15 songs and a melodic interlude, the project is divided into two distinct halves - Country and Midwestern - reflecting both the music that influenced the sisters and the North Dakota roots that continue to shape their songwriting.
Written over the past two years, Country & Midwestern follows Tigirlily Gold through growing up, leaving home, chasing dreams, falling in love, heartbreak and the pull of the people and places that helped make them who they are.
Kendra and Krista earned writing credits on every track, working alongside songwriters including Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Sarah Buxton, Josh Jenkins, Willie Morrison, Trannie Anderson, Mark Irwin and others.
“We could not be more excited to finally announce our sophomore album, Country & Midwestern!” Kendra and Krista shared. “This album came to be by taking the sounds of the 2000s Country music we grew up on and our love of growing up in the Midwest, which is often overlooked and under-appreciated.”
The sisters say the album looks both backward and forward, drawing on the music of their childhood while documenting where life has taken them since leaving North Dakota for Nashville.
“While the album is sonically nostalgic, the lyrics cover where we've been, where we are, and where we're going, professionally and personally,” they continued. “We spent the last two years planting many seeds - some that painted fields gold and some that never had the chance to grow. We did not sugarcoat any of our experiences, and hope everyone can hear the heart of this album, because it's one and the same as ours.”
Inside the Album’s Country and Midwestern Sides
The first half of Country & Midwestern leans into the hook-driven Country sound Tigirlily Gold grew up loving.
“Girl’s A Goner” opens the album, followed by songs including “70 And Neon,” “I Do Or Die,” “Something To Drink About,” and “Diamond On Your Tab.” The Country portion explores the highs and lows of young adulthood with the duo’s harmonies, sharp writing and playful personality at the center.
“Interlude” marks the shift into the album’s Midwestern half, where the storytelling turns toward family, nostalgia, resilience, and home.
Songs including “Call Your Mom,” “Folgers,” “Grain,” and “Plateau” focus on the smaller moments and familiar details that can carry just as much meaning as life’s major milestones.
The album takes its name from both the sisters’ North Dakota upbringing and the previously released title track, “Country & Midwestern.” For Kendra and Krista, being Midwestern represents hard work, family, faith, grit and finding joy in everyday life - values they say have followed them from North Dakota to Nashville.
That connection to home also extends to the album artwork, which was photographed in North Dakota by Kendra’s husband, Jared Olson, against the prairie landscape that helped inspire the project.
“Something To Drink About” Offers Another Look at the Album
Tigirlily Gold has already shared several previews of the album, including “Country & Midwestern,” “I Do Or Die” and the newly released “Something To Drink About.”
Written by Krista Slaubaugh, Kendra Olson, Pete Good and Shane McAnally, “Something To Drink About” turns a familiar Country breakup story on its head as the sisters deliver a final warning to a barstool regular who has pushed his luck too far.
Pete Good produced the track with additional production from McAnally.
Built around clever lyrics, attitude and Tigirlily Gold’s signature harmonies, the song provides a look at the more playful side of Country & Midwestern while continuing the album’s mix of 2000s Country influences and modern storytelling.
