Kenny Chesney is preparing to release a new album this fall.

The country superstar will release Silver Sands Marina on September 25 through his independent HEY NOW Records. The 11-song project marks Kenny Chesney’s 21st studio album and follows the launch of “Carry On,” the debut single from his new label.

Co-produced by Kenny and longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon, Silver Sands Marina came together in a way even Kenny didn’t initially expect. After deciding to re-record “Carry On” and adding three more songs to the project, he finished sequencing the record and realized the collection had become something bigger than a group of individual tracks.

“There wasn’t a master plan,” Kenny admits. “I wish I could say there was a master plan, but the truth is: the songs that felt like they belonged together knew something I didn’t. After the first couple listens to what became the final sequence, I realized, ‘This is an album.’”

The title track, “Silver Sands Marina,” has also been released from the project, along with a music video filmed at the real Silver Sands Marina on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.

This guide will be updated as more information about Silver Sands Marina is announced.

When Does Kenny Chesney’s Silver Sands Marina Come Out?

Kenny Chesney’s Silver Sands Marina is set for release on September 25.

The album is available for pre-order and pre-save now, with signed CD and vinyl editions also available through TalkShopLive.

What Is Kenny Chesney’s Silver Sands Marina About?

Silver Sands Marina brings together many of the themes Kenny has explored throughout his career: escape, connection, reflection, long drives, good friends, turning points, and the kind of memories that stay with you long after the moment is over.

But as the album came together, Kenny realized the songs were also connected in a way he hadn’t originally planned.

“With all the tracks, the playlists, the drops, I think we’ve forgotten the power of an actual collection of songs designed to work as a whole,” he says. “Not 10 or 12 or even 18 great songs, but songs that have a relationship to each other, that speak to how life rolls out and happens.”

That relationship between the songs helped shape the album’s final sequence. Silver Sands Marina opens with “Burn My Boat” and closes with “Shot Glass,” written by Brett James and Tony Lane.

“Songs that make you laugh, that make you realize what a moment might actually mean, those things are so important – and we forget all about them,” Kenny says. “Musically, lyrically, even the idea of opening with ‘Burn My Boat’ and closing with Brett James and Tony Lane’s ‘Shot Glass’ takes you places I’ve never been.”

The album moves through personal, reflective, empowering, and lighter moments while exploring the emotions and experiences people often move through without stopping to fully appreciate them.

“I love everything about music, but especially how it makes you feel,” Kenny previously said. “It can crack open a tough moment, lift you up, blow you up and make you laugh harder than anything.”

The project also arrives during a major chapter in Kenny’s career. He was named a 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and returned to Sphere Las Vegas in 2026 for his second residency.

Kenny Chesney’s Silver Sands Marina Songs

The full track list for Silver Sands Marina has not been released yet. So far, Kenny Chesney has shared two songs from the album.

“Carry On”

“Carry On” was the first song released from Silver Sands Marina and served as the debut single from Chesney’s HEY NOW Records.

According to the album announcement, “Carry On” made history by becoming the first independent single, and only the third single overall, to lock out the full country radio reporting panel in its first week.

“Silver Sands Marina”

The title track, “Silver Sands Marina,” is the second song released from the album.

The song centers on a vivid place, a brief encounter and the kind of memory that feels frozen in time. Chesney said the song felt so real to him that he wanted to visit the place that inspired it.

“When you hear the song, it’s so perfectly drawn, you almost can’t believe it’s real,” Chesney said. “But, of course, it is a real place – located on Lake Winnipesaukee – where generations of families and friends have tied up their boats, checked in, enjoyed the water and being together.”

“Burn My Boat”

“Burn My Boat” opens Silver Sands Marina.

Kenny has described the song as part of the journey created through the album’s sequencing, setting the record in motion before it moves through lighter moments, reflection, unexpected turns, and memories.

“Shot Glass”

“Shot Glass” closes the 11-song album.

Written by Brett James and Tony Lane, the song holds an important place in the record’s sequence. Kenny specifically pointed to the journey from opening track “Burn My Boat” to “Shot Glass” while explaining how the songs ultimately came together as one complete album.

Who Appears on Kenny Chesney’s Silver Sands Marina?

Kenny Chesney’s Silver Sands Marina includes guests Colbie Caillat, Lily Meola and Megan Moroney.

The album also includes songs connected to several well-known Nashville songwriters, including Tony Lane, Matraca Berg, Shane McAnally, Brett James, Jessie Jo Dillon, Tenille Townes and Adam Wright.

Kenny Chesney’s “Silver Sands Marina” Music Video

Kenny Chesney filmed the music video for “Silver Sands Marina” at the actual Silver Sands Marina on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.

The video was directed by longtime collaborator Shaun Silva and was filmed around the motel, marina and pier. Rather than building a fictional setting, Chesney leaned into the real location that inspired the song.

The video captures the marina outside of its busiest season, giving the clip a quiet, reflective feel as Chesney performs around the property with his acoustic guitar.

Kenny Chesney Talks Silver Sands Marina on TalkShopLive

Kenny returned to TalkShopLive on July 30 for another conversation about Silver Sands Marina, its key tracks, and what he hopes listeners take away from the album.

The appearance also gave fans an opportunity to submit questions and continue Kenny’s ongoing conversation with No Shoes Nation.

“I loved talking about Heart Life Music on TalkShopLive, because it let me get inside what we were trying to do and the process,” Kenny said ahead of the event. “It was a chance to show people how much telling my story meant to me, and I feel the same way about this record.”

TalkShopLive has also offered a limited-edition signed picture-disc vinyl exclusive, along with traditional signed vinyl and CD copies of Silver Sands Marina.

Silver Sands Marina arrives September 25.
