Reba McEntire is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her hit sitcom Reba by giving fans something they've never been able to officially stream before: the version of “I'm A Survivor” recorded for the show's opening credits.
Released October 28 through MCA, I'm A Survivor - EP features four versions of the song, including the original television theme, which is being released for the first time.
Reba Celebrates 25 Years of Her Hit Sitcom
Reba premiered on October 5, 2001, introducing audiences to McEntire as Reba Hart, a sharp-witted single mother navigating divorce, family relationships, and the challenges of raising three children.
The comedy ran for six seasons through 2007 and became one of McEntire's most recognizable television roles.
The show's opening theme, “I'm A Survivor,” became closely associated with Reba Hart and her determination to handle whatever life threw her way.
Written by Phillip White and Shelby Kennedy, the song originally appeared on McEntire's 2001 album Greatest Hits, Volume III: I'm A Survivor. That recording was produced by Tony Brown and McEntire.
Although fans have been able to listen to the original song for years, the version created specifically for the sitcom had never received an official release until now.
