Thomas Rhett is taking a new step in his career with the launch of Fifty-One/Forty-Nine Records, a record label created in partnership with Blue Highway Records, the Nashville-based division of HYBE AMERICAS.
Announced October 6, 2026, the partnership gives Rhett greater control over his music while providing the resources and support of an established record company.
After more than a decade in country music, Rhett says he wanted something different from a traditional record deal.
“When we started talking about what the next chapter could look like, I knew I didn’t simply want to make another deal. I wanted to build something that reflected the legacy and shaped the future of my music,” Rhett explained.
One of the biggest factors behind the partnership is music ownership. According to Rhett, the new arrangement gives him the opportunity to own the body of work he has created throughout his career while continuing to work with a team on future recordings.
“This allows me the opportunity to own the body of work I’ve spent my entire career creating, while still having an ambitious team and global infrastructure around me for my future recordings,” he said. “I am incredibly excited about building this next chapter together.”
What Is Fifty-One/Forty-Nine Records?
Fifty-One/Forty-Nine Records is an artist-led record company founded by Thomas Rhett. The label will serve as the home for his recorded music, with an emphasis on long-term ownership, creative independence, and artist development.
The partnership allows Rhett to take a more active role in the business side of his music career while working alongside Blue Highway Records.
Blue Highway launched in 2026 as part of HYBE AMERICAS, with a roster that includes Brett Young, Midland, Justin Moore, Jackson Dean, Mae Estes, and The Cadillac Three.
Blue Highway Records CEO Jake Basden says Rhett's ability to explore different musical styles while maintaining his country roots is one of the reasons he's excited about the partnership.
“Having watched Thomas Rhett come into his own and then achieve major success, I am honored to be his partner going forward,” Basden said.
